John D. "Bud" Hawk Elementary at Jackson Park

Our school library is designed to be a welcoming and resourceful hub for all students at Hawk, aligning with the district's overall mission to support student academic learning. Our primary goal is to ensure students become effective users of ideas and information, equipping them with essential research and digital citizenship skills. We provide a broad array of services and a wide range of materials, from print books to online resources, to support the educational programs of our school. We also look to foster a lifelong love of reading through engaging print and digital resources.

General book checkout rules that parents can expect:

• Books are checked out on a weekly basis
• Grades K-1: Check out 1-2 books
• Grades 2 : Checks out two books
• Grades 3-6: Check out three books
• Kindergarten generally begins checking out books in October
• Books may be renewed 
• Parents are invited to talk to the librarian about opportunities to check out extra materials for their student as needed.
